Something to Blog About Shana Norris Books

Libby Fawcett learned her lesson about writing private things down back in second grade: if you commit it to paper, someone might see it. That's why a password protected blog site is the perfect place for her to keep a diary.

The blog diary gives Libby a chance to record her thoughts on the upheavals in her life. Like when she accidentally set her hair on fire in chemistry class. The `incident' in and of itself would be traumatic enough, but amongst the witnesses were her longtime crush, Seth Jacobs, and her longer-time archenemy. Angel Rivera.

Added to that humiliation is the shock Libby gets when she discovers that her mother is dating Angel's father. Worse, Mom has been seeing Mr. Rivera in secret for seven months. It's clear that Angel and Libby may have to work together to split the happy couple up.

There are, thankfully, some happy moments for Libby. Out of the blue, Seth asks her to tutor him in chemistry. Of course, Libby is no good in chemistry, so she has to get tutored each morning before tutoring Seth in turn.

Alas, anything good in Libby's life is destined not to last. Angel pulls her meanest prank yet when she discovers the password for Libby's blog. Now Libby is going to have to come up with a way to hold onto her friends and she'll be lucky if Seth ever speaks to her again.

Something to Blog About Shana Norris Books Reviews

This book took many turns, but it all came together, creating a wonderful book. The morals of this book taught me something, and that's what made it a joy. This book was worth reading!
Something to Blog About is a humorous account of the embarrassment that everyone endures trying to survive adolescence. While it finds just the right balance of comedy and angst, I really don't think it will appeal to most high school students. The book was offered as a summer reading option at my middle school, and girls who chose it seemed to love it. The language and situations are appropriate for tweens. Like other reviewers, I hope this book leads to a series about Libby, Angel, Keisha and their lives.
Sometimes you just have to have a place to vent, ya know?

That's why Libby Fawcett started her blog. She wrote about her most embarrassing moments, like when she caught her hair on fire in chemistry class right in front of Seth Jacobs! She posted an entry the day she found out her mom was dating someone and that it had been going on for months. She blogged about her morning breath that tasted like she'd "been eating socks" in her sleep and the pimple on her earlobe. And she wrote about her cousin, Roger, who was crushing on her best friend, Keisha. She wrote about everything. And why not? She'd taken precautions. The blog was set to private. No one else could see it. Could they?

Angel Rivera, Libby's sworn enemy, torments Libby on a daily basis at school. When the girls discover their parents are dating one another, the harassment escalates. When Libby finds herself suspended after one of Angel's pranks, she realizes that she's being used to help break up their parents. Does she really want to cause her mother that much pain? Doing the right thing becomes even more difficult after Angel manages to turn the entire school against Libby.

SOMETHING TO BLOG ABOUT by Shana Norris is funny and engaging, a wonderful glimpse into the topsy-turvy emotions of a teen in love, who's also dealing with a parent who's dating and in love. I was only a few chapters in when my twelve-year-old daughter snagged my copy and read it straight through. She loved it! This first novel by Shana Norris is definitely "SOMETHING TO BLOG ABOUT!"

At 1st, the book was ok in the 1st chapter. Not very interesting, but after that I couldn't stop turning the pages! I had to know what happenes in the next chapter.

The ending was expected... but I still loved reading on the details of what happened.

I would recomend this to freshmen, or sofmore highschool students. It seemed a bit young for me.
I bought this book for my granddaughter and she loved it. Highly recommend for young girls who like to read stories that they can relate to.
